yes! not stuck

By the grace of God, I'm on the train! Penn was mad crazy if you can imagine. My train was 10 mns late.. I'll take it. Home to the puggies!

Before I boarded, I had some time to make a fast and furious stop into Starbucks. I got a tall skim 1 pump peppermint 1 pump mocha latte.

Spin tonight! Can't wait to sweat out all the cookies I ate last night :0)

let's go shopping

Happy Saturday!

I got up early, had breakfast and then met Danielle for an 9am spin class. After class, we met up with Angela at Starbs. Ang and I have been dying to try a peppermint mocha. For the past 3 weeks, this stupid drink has been the bain of our existence. Today was the day we tasted it, and omg, it was definitely worth the calories. Wowzas. Christmas-ey goodness in my mouth. I'll be going back for another tonight this week.

Rewind to yesterday.

Before we started decorating, I had to make an impromptu trip over to Target. Stu says to me "Black Friday at Target?". My response? "We can do it babe, we'll power through." To be honest with you, Targs wasn't all that bad. Guess our expectations were too high. The toy and electronic areas were the most packed, everywhere else in the store was pretty calm. I made a bee line over to the Christmas section, but my attention was quickly diverted when we approached the candy and snack area.

Oh yes, peppermint oreos. 140 calories for 2. I'll pass.

tons of candy. yummmm.

My favorite. Candy cane tootsie pops. I always have extras in my purse. Ya know, just in case.

We're making progress.

I always make sure I  have "emergency gifts. These cookie mixes are perfect. In the cart they go.

Why not make it 11 creamers? Don't judge.

And we're done. Mission accomplished.

Last night our town held it's official Christmas tree lighting. There were Christmas carolers, hot chocolate and of course Santa. He arrived on top of a fire truck. Kids everywhere were going nuts. It was adorable. I swear, this was a scene strait out of a Lifetime. Phoebe and Miles were a huge hit with all the kiddos. Kinda made me want one or two little one's of my own. After the festivities died down, we went to dinner and then to the movies. We saw "Unstoppable." Not exactly the greatest movie to see if you commute in on a train every day, haha. It was really good. We like it a lot.

We're relaxing now, and then it's off to KOP for some Christmas shopping. Speaking of the KOP mall, did you know they have an iphone app?? YES!! Just download it, it's free {& fabulous.}

Hope you're having a great weekend.

string those lights!

Happy Black Friday! Who's been up since 3am shopping? Not me. Hell no. We're going to KOP tomorrow. Today is my big Christmas decorating extravaganza.

I had planned on running this morning, but it's raining out and I'm a wimp like that. I opted to do an hour on my elliptical and caught up on my shows. Did you catch Oprah's Favorites part 1 & 2? WTF? As I was watching O hook the audience up with camera's, watches and a 7 day cruise, I found myself getting jealous pissed annoyed. Why am I watching this? Clearly I'm just envious. Boy, did that audience hit the jackpot that day. After three years of being on Oprah's wait list, my friend finally got to attend a show taping. She said it was crazy to see how everything works behind the scenes.

Before my workout, I had an eggwhite {in a mug} sandwich with cheese and hot sauce. It totes hit the spot. Oh, and an eggnog coffee with eggnog creamer. I was in eggnog heaven. Yum.

Protein overload. Yum. The hot sauce gives it a little kick.

We're putting the Christmas decorations today, even the tree! I think this year we're going to do 2 trees!! Speaking of trees, tonight is our town's Christmas tree lighting. We're going, can't miss that! Stu called a Christmas light decorating company. Yup, they specialize in blinging out people's houses. They hang lights everywhere and then return in January to take them all down. I have a feeling my house is going to look like a scene from of Chevy Chase's Christmas vacation when they're done with it. Omg, could you imagine?

I love this movie. We watch it every year.

Who else is decorating today? What's your favorite part about decorating?? Mine is blasting Christmas music and burning Yankee Candle "Mistletoe" tarts.

creamer anyone?

Happy FRIDAY Wednesday!! Who's ready for Turkey Day!? I decided to scrap making the pumpkin roll and got a sheet cake instead. That roll was nutso!

I started my morning off with a cup of creamer coffee. I've been really good about giving equal love to each flavor. Today it was Sugar & Spice, yesterday it was Eggnog. I hate the Gingerbread and I have no idea why I still have it.

Some might say that I have a slight obsession with flavored creamers. Nah. Who doesn't have 10 bottles of creamer in their fridge at all times? Seriously.

What do you think? Am I bananas?

I keep forgetting that 1) I'm getting my hair done later today and 2) we're seeing Michael Buble tonight! Life is good!

Have a great rest of the day friends!

save the date for a great cause

Monday, December 13th @7pm

Triumph Brewery in New Hope, PA

Oh joy! It's a holiday "tweet-up/tweet drive, " and for a great cause too. If you live in the area, come out and join my twitter buds @BucksHappening, @VisitBucksPA and @HolidayTweetDrive for a fun night of drinks, prizes and holiday music.

More about the Holiday Tweet Drive

The Holiday Tweet Drive is a nation-wide toy/clothing drive that will use social media to give back to children who are less fortunate and spread some Holiday cheer along the way.

We have some amazing events lined up in cities all across the country that will host each toy drive and allow attendees to enjoy a night of networking and holiday festivities. All of the updates and communication can be found through Twitter and we hope to stay true to the social nature of the “Tweet” Drive.

What makes our Tweet-Ups different then the rest is the admission fee. Rather than paying a small entrance fee, we only ask that you donate a NEW toy or NEW article of clothing. After that, please enjoy networking with our other attendees! Each donation will go to a local shelter or charity from each city.

We Hope you will join us at your city’s Tweet Drive Tweet Up, and assist us in giving back to children who are less fortunate all around the country. With that said, Happy Tweeting, Happy Networking, and most importantly, Happy Holidays from all of us involved with the Holiday Tweet Drive.

Holiday tweet drives are happeing all over the country. AWESOME!!

weekend re-cap

No seriously.

I'm so happy it's a short week. I love this time of year!

How was your weekend? We did a ton. One thing I can cross off our list is a new couch {love seat.} We found one, and it wasn't the original couch I liked at Ikea. We went to Ikea on Saturday so I could stuff my face with swedish meatballs to see the couch in person. It was nice. I loved the idea of being able to switch  out the different slip covers whenever I wanted. Most of Ikea's furniture is slip-cover friendly. How versatile right??  Well, the couch itself was $579 and the slip cover sold separately for $239. Are you kidding me IKEA?? $818 for a damn love sea??  Screw that. We left with only an $8 vase. Epic fail. On the way home we stopped into Ashley furniture and there she was.....ahhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhhh.......the most perfect little love seat I'd ever seen.

As soon as Stu sat down on it, he knew this was the one. SO COMFORTABLE. This couch looks like it would be featured in a Pottery Barn show room. It was originally priced at $779, marked down to $559 on sale for $379! WHAT?? I thought it was a hoax. Nope. This couch really was marked down to $379. Obviously we got it. Ikea, you and your slip- covered over-priced couch can kiss my ass. Our new couch is being delivered this weekend. PS-Don't think for a second those hideous looking pillows are staying on that couch. Pier 1 will be getting a visit from me later.

As you know, yesterday I ran the Philly Half marathon. I'm still on cloud nine about our PR times! We also had another great SLOW COOKER SUNDAY. I made stuffed peppers and they came out phenomenal. I got the recipe off of a slow cooker app I have on my iphone. I bought 4 HUGE peppers, so we're having the last 2 tonight for dinner. Left-overs rule. These peppers were so good, that this weekend I'm making them all over again. The one thing I'm changing is the rice. Gonna replace it with couscous. Oh, and pair this dish up with some yummy whole grain bread.

Stuffed Green Bell Peppers

  1. Combine all ingredients, except 1/4 cup cheese and green peppers.
  2. Stuff peppers with this mixture. Arrange peppers in stoneware.
  3. Cover and cook on LOW 6-8 hours (HIGH: 3-4 hours).
  4. Sprinkle with remaining cheese during last 30 minutes of cooking.

BLOG UPDATE: all of the content has been converted to the new server, yay! Working on the updated header and a few more details. Shooting for a Christmas launch. Oh, and NO MORE PURPLE! EVER.

called out!

Next Wednesday, {Thanksgiving day eve} will be a year since I Adam called me out had my infamous "hot toddy" discussion with Adam Lambert. I thought it would be fun to re-post this video. I mean afterall, it is hot toddy season. Maybe I should think about re-naming my "hot toddy" "hot chocolate 2.0" seeing that I don't ever add {nor do I want to} whisky to it. Gross!! "Hot Toddy" just sounds cute and Christmas-ey.

I can't watch this vid without cringing at my horrendous roots. Gahh!

it's a hot toddy tuesday

Good morning! It was a tad cold, but I managed to roll out of bed, change into my running swagg and run 4. I feel so much better once I've worked out.

Now all I want is this..

A cinnamon latte. I got this cup of wonderfulness over the weekend at a cute little cafe in Harvard Square. Where's a frother when you need it?

IMG_2562 Seeing that I don't own a crazy expresso making machine, I decided that it was time to make my  first "hot toddy" of the season. Exciting huh?

IMG_2566 Yup, at 5:15 this morning, I was drinking this. Note the peppermint flavored whipped cream w/ crushed candy cane on top. That's the way I roll.

IMG_2567 I used 1 packed of swiss miss hot chocolate mix (the ff 25 calorie packs), topped w/ peppermint whipped cream (Target) and of course a crushed mini candy cane. Who needs a 654 calorie peppermint mocha from Starbs when you can make my hot toddy (sans the whisky) for under 50 calories. Hello? It's a no-brainer.

Thanks to this cup of deliciousness, I am now ready to conquer my day!

PS-Not even this adorable hot toddy can make me like my blog. I still hate it and can't wait to move!!
