This is fascinating to me. Apparently, sometime in the near future, gyms {not all} will provide flat irons in their locker-rooms. Awesome right?? Here's the catch, you'll have to pay $1 to use it. YES, it'll be a pay as you go deal. Stick your buck in the machine, and the timer starts.
"Seems that the Beautiful Hair Styler self-sterilizing irons are already a
big hit with women in need of on-the-go straight-hair touch-ups over in
Europe and now they're making their way over to the States to
nightclubs, health and fitness centers, tanning salons, shopping malls,
colleges, office buildings, airports and reception halls. The way they
work: You stick some cash in the dollar-bill acceptor, the iron heats up
and the timer begins." -Glamour.com
Would you pay to use a flat iron at your gym?
Assuming there were sanitizing sheets to go over the iron plates, or whatever, I'd be down. It would probably be easier to just bring your own iron, but some people don't have one. How many times to do you leave the gym with your hair frizzed out to the max?? It'd be nice to have a back up option if you were going strait from the gym out to an event/date/dinner.
As a reward for running in the Livestrong 10K tomorrow, I plan on celebrating by downing a huge bowl of Uncle Dave's pumpkin ice cream! The wait is almost over. If you live in or around Bucks county, Shadybrook Farms is breaking out their infamous pumpkin ice cream tomorrow!!!
Check out this cute blog I stumbled across. No wonder why I love it so much, the title says it all;
"Desserts for Breakfast"
Hope you're having a great Monday. I'm still tired as hell. The weekend in Chicago kicked my ass {in a good way of course}. Is it 9pm yet? That's what time this little lady is hittin' the sack.
Question- What do you want to see more/less off on this blog? More beauty stuff? More fitness related stuff? Runs? Guest bloggers? More food finds? More music dish and scoop? More vlogs? More of my eats/meals? Recipes? More pic's? Maybe a Q&A column? A blog roll? My twitter feed, facebook fan page and search bar {finally} will all be part of the new layout.
Am I missing anything? I can't wait to give this site a face lift. It's been too long, and I am so over the color purple {Oprah, don't take that the wrong way.} Color suggestions? Figured I'd ask.
Please leave your comments below. Thanks ladies!
Oh, and look what Stu came home brought home tonight. These my friends, are the new mini blizzards. Are they not the most are the PERFECT size? No guilt. I ate my health bar cup so fast, I gave myself brain freeze.
the more toppings the better in my opinion.
I had THE BEST time at the HEALTHY LIVING SUMMIT in Chicago over the weekend. I'll get to that in a sec, but first, breakfast. It was EPIC.
Overnight Oats. I ate it on the train.
.5 c oats
.5 container plain greek yogurt. I love Oikios
splash of almond milk
splash of water
cinnamon
blueberries
drizzle of maple syrup
raisins
brown sugar
Mix all this business together and let it sit in your fridge overnight. Trust me, this is good stuff.
Lindsay and I headed up to the windy city for the weekend. We attended our first HEALTHY LIVING SUMMIT. It was such an amazing experience. Empowering to say the least. Linds arrived around 7:30 Friday morning. I got in around 3. We grabbed lunch at The Corner Bakery and then headed off to explore Chicago.
I was looking for Giuliana. She usually does her reports for E! news standing on this bridge.
We stayed at the Congress Plaza Hotel. Nice room.
After walking around the city, we came back to the hotel to check in and pick up our coveted hls swag bags. They had MAJOR SWAG! These bags weighed 7 lbs, they were no joke!
Around 7, we headed over to LaSalle Power Co. for the Open Sky cocktail party. There were bloggers everywhere. I felt right at home.
It was awesome to meet so many of the girls' whose blogs I read. I was kinda star struck, ha.
the Riesling was a flowin'
our new friend Annelies. She works with Attune (the company Lindsay is working with this summer)
Hi Kat from MyFruitylife.com
can you tell which pic was taken by a professional? Les, Linds and I chatting about marathons and such.
This is Leslie. We've been tweeting back and forth for months now but had never met until this weekend. Leslie's a big time blogger and loves to run like meee!! Check out her site @ AndHerLittleDogToo.com **ATTENTION PHILLY area bloggers: we're planning a blogger meet-up, perhaps dinner. Let me know if you're interested and we'll decided on a time and place soon.
The cocktail party was tons of fun, but I'm not gonna lie, by 9pm, we we're pooped. We got back to the hotel around 9:30 and immediately ordered room service. We both went with eggs. Random, I know, but it was what we were craving.
Saturday morning came quickly. We got up around 5am, and headed out on a nice 6 mile run along the Chicago Harbor. What an way to start your day. The views were breathtaking.
Before sunrise. Ahhh... I could get up and run every single morning if this was the route I ran.
After a fantastic run {under a rainbow nonetheless}, we went back to the hotel and got breakfast. Since Lindsay was there for Attune, she helped Annelies set up their booth. While she worked, I enjoyed a cup of freaking awesome swiss overnight oats from The Corner Bakery.
10am: The HLS begins and the ball room is packed with beautiful bloggers.
Women from all over the country, even London traveled to Chicago to attend. That's pretty bad-ass if you ask me.
This is Amy. Her blog is SecondCityRandomness.com I met her through my sister. She was so nice. I added her blog to my favorites :0)
Here I am talking about how if you have dogs, keep them locked up until your house guests arrive. There's nothing worse than having a dog(s) jump up all over you, or even worse, sniff your crotch the second you walk through the door. You know that's happened before. Not fun.
Lindsay and Annelies worked it out at their Attune table. I love the attune chocolate bars. You can get them at Whole Foods. And the granola is killer. I swigged at least 4 cups of maple nut. YUM.
Nice set up ladies! The attune chocolate bars are only 90 calories! Score.
There was no stopping my granola intake. I was outta control.
Gimme more of that glorious granola!
I'd be a great Attune ambassador.
After a long day of great seminars and meeting over 200 bloggers, we took a nap and then went out on the town, and by town, I mean walking 7 blocks to Whole Foods for dinner. After din, we went to the movies and saw Eat Pray Love. It was just okay. We weren't blown away by it.
As you can see, a man took this pic. It's off center and not focused. Thanks dude.
Yesterday morning we went on another pre-sunrise run along the Chicago Harbor and through Lincoln Park. I was actually looking forward to running all day Saturday. There's something about running while it's still dark out and before everyone else wakes up. Peaceful.
Our time in Chicago for the HLS was quickly and sadly coming to an end. I met and made so many amazing women while at this event. The whole experience was incredible and I'm so glad I was able to share it with my sis. We can't wait for next year's HLS. Before we left the hotel, we took one last pic with our new friends, Cassie and her mom Lisa. Cass' blog is Apinchofthisandadashof that.com. Cass and her momma drove all the way from Minnesota!
I was so inspired from this weekend, I registered to run the PHILLY HALF MARATHON!! How's that for motivation???
My flight back to Philly was great. We took off on time and landed early. Woo Hoo!
After such a long {and SUPER FUN} weekend, I am tired. Don't ask me how the hell I was able to drag myself out of bed this morning and bang out 6 miles. Was that a dream? I was supposed to have a training session with Patty tonight, but she just sent me a text asking if we could re-schedule. That's okay with me. All I wanna do is go to bed.
I have some news but I'll tell you about it later. Not bad. And no, I'm not pregnant ;0)
Sorry I've been MIA today. I woke up late and I'm super tired. The last thing I want to do it meet Patty {God love her} tonight for a session. Lunges with a 10 lb core ball does not seem fun to me right now.
I'm getting a blow out with Linds at 7 and then din with Stu. Tomorrow I leave for Chicago! Yes, I managed to score a ticket to the Healthy Living Summit! Thanks to Caroline from thebroccolihut.com. She was unable to attend this year, so she sold me her ticket. How nice is she??!! My flight is at 11:35 tomorrow, and seeing that this is a short trip, I'm packing super light, as in leggings and a sundress. I was thinking about throwing everything into my Vera Bradley duffel that way I won't have to check a bag. The coolest part about this trip will be hanging with my sis. I'm so excited to see her!! I'll take lots of pic's but probably won't recap everything until Monday. Cool?
Have a great night, and think of me around 6pm when I'm doing suicides and lifting big ass weights!!
Happy Tuesday!
Ugh, I drank my coffee too fast. Not good.

You ladies are spoiling me, really! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
See you at the next shindig!
Hello gorgeous!
I'm still trying to finagle my way in to the Healthy Living Summit. When did the tickets go on sale, and how the hell did I miss it? My sister is going with the Attune people and I am beyond jealous.
Tonight Nicole {aka "Nic the web chick" for those who listen to Q102}, is coming to the NAC and taking a spin class with me! I'm so excited! I know she's gonna LOVE it. Nicole is actually the one who got me into spinning. After we sweat our asses off, we're gonna grab a quick bite. I'm thinking Cosi could be a good option.
Stu is in Salt Lake City :0( Sucks. I hate when he goes away. What am I supposed to do without my man? Shop? Hang with my girls? Dine out? Done, done & done.
My family.
I love this pic.
Heaven.
Louie from the 923 NOW street team has a girlfriend that bakes us beautiful treats like this.
Yesterday it was this amazingly rich and creamy chocolate tarte thingy and today I walked into the studio to find a huge carrot cake sitting on the counter.
A freaking CARROT CAKE!
I swear, this is the best damn job ever.
Thanks LOUIE'S GF! Keep the sweets comin' haha.
check out her adorable blog
