At Borders for the 3rd time this week and I'm happy to report that they have Michael Buble on again! I love this place.
nf latte and slow cooker recipe books. Welcome to my weekend :0)
I just bought Prospect Park West. What would I do without the big fat Border's next to Penn station??
Can't wait to curl up by the fire, on my couch (in Stu's slanket), and read this book later. Oh, and don't think for one second I won't have my "fire place" screen saver going' on our the tv in the background.
Starting tonight, HOT TODDIE'S are officially back!!
Remember last year?? Oh the memories......
I make my hot toddie's with swiss miss fat free hot chocolate mix. Add boiling water (or milk), and top off with what else??? Cool Hhwwiip. I also sprinkle cinnamon over the cw and then add peppermint shavings or a mini candy cane. I think they're very "Sandra Lee" looking. Now all I need is a tablescape and we're good to go!
Only my sister and mom would appreciate this book. HA!!
PS- Not to be gross, but Dr. Oz says you're super healthy if your poopy comes out in an "S" shape.
No seriously. Eat your fiber (25g a day), and check your poop.
Scroll to the 45 sec mark and watch!
After a day sh*tious day of feeling wicked guilty, not to mention totally bloated and puffy, I had a serious sweat session and have now re-focused. Guess you could say I had "a moment".
I'm reading "How to Break Free of Emotional Eating" by Geneen Roth. Enlightening and inspiring.
Breaking Free from Emotional Eating
F.Y.I: No need for the "you have serious food/eating" issues comments. I'm just a chick who takes care of herself and enjoys being/eating healthy. Like any normal person, I have a day or 2 where I over-indulge and then feel a tad bit guilty afterwards. I end up feeling this way because 95% of the time I eat really well and then beat myself over the stupid fact that I ate 5 brownies when I could of been satisfied with 1, maybe 2. There's no reason for me to be gluggin' down 5 brownies in one sitting. That's ridiculous. And lately it's been happening way too often. I'm okay with "splurging" every once and a while. That's fine, but I need to come up with a better system for myself. After a couple slices of pizza and a small ice cream cone, do I really want 6 cookies? Do I need 6 cookies?? No. I'm just craving them. I'm not hungry for them. In fact, I'm totally full. I just want cookies (or anything sweet for that matter). It's because at that moment, I'm in a mind set of "eff it, I'm already eating crap, what's 300 more calories"?. It's time to take control so I can stop feeling the way I do. My mom said that if she didn't see me eat, or thumb through my food journal for herself, she wouldn't think I ate anything at all. Trust me when I tell you, I eat a lot. I love food (who doesn't)? I'm just trying to decipher what is actual "hunger pangs" or just a "I need something sweet" craving. My sister and a few friends recommended this book to me. I like it so far. Geneen's philosophy on the way we look at food really does make sense.
I have no idea why my vlog isn't generating on this page. If you want to see it, click HERE. Otherwise, thanks for poppin' in.
Where was this book last weekend when I scoffed down 3 huge monster pieces of corn bread followed by a chocolate chip cookie sundae?? As you may already know, I eat pretty healthy 95% of the time, but when I get off track, I go all out. This is one book I can't wait to start reading. It's called "The End of Overeating" by David A. Kessler. I found out about this book through an article I read in this month's issue of "Women's Health" magazine.
PS: I would devour that piece of carrot cake so fast, it would make your head spin. Definitely a two biter. Mmm, mmm, mmm. Okay, get control Lis. Time to open up this book,
The End of Overeating: Taking Control of the Insatiable American Appetite
Just ordered this book too, "In Defense of Eating" by Michael Pollan
In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto
Let the summer reading begin!
Another version of "Eat This Not That" is out!! YIPPIE. Just placed my order. Click here to get yours. These books are fantastic, and this version is very fitting for a day like today (ie: bbq, burgers and booze). Calories don't count on holidays, that's my new rule.
Tampa's been awesome. We're having the best time. Did some shopping, eating, swimming, and now we're going for a walk along Bayshore and then over to Hyde Park for lunch. Wish me a safe flight back tonight. Back on the air tomorrow.
Have a great Memorial Day!
Lisa Rinna has a new book out called "Rinnavation (Getting Your Best Life Ever)". Her peeps sent me a copy and I can't wait to start reading it. Lis dishes about her best kept secrets to staying fit, managing weight, looking beautiful, and feeling sexy, all while living the best life possible. Awesome. This is book right up my alley.
Rinnavation: Getting Your Best Life Ever
Happy May 1st!! My birthday is in just 20 days..wooo hoooo!! Turning the big 3-1! My weekly monthly email from LouisVuitton.com has been sent off to Stu (several times actually). What is it with me us and bags? I could get a new purse for every holiday, anniversary, bday, etc, for the rest of my life and be completely happy. I'm a LOVER of nice bags, what can I say? If anything, Stu has it easy when it comes to getting me gifts- he never has to question what to get the love of his life. The perfect gift will always be a purse. Always. Ya reading this honey??
After work, I walked 12 feet over to Bliss Spa and got my eyebrows and lip waxed. Waxing your upper lips hurts like a bitch. Thank God I only have to get it done once every couple of months. Ella is my girl. She's Russian and I love her. Anyway, as I'm walking out of Bliss Spa I noticed the ridiculous rain storm going on outside. Awesome. Good thing I had my mega bubble umbrella with me. That baby kept me and my bag dry (for the most part). Lemme tell ya, NYC is a blast when it's down pouring out. I took cover in Starbucks until it lightened up and then eventually stopped. I missed the 436 train (thanks mother nature), so I had some time to kill before the next train-ironically there's a Tasti D Lite on my way to Penn, so I stopped in and got a small cup of creme brulee. It was so good. Mmm. Why can't my cute little town have a Tasti D-Lite? Main St needs a Tasti D. Come on..can't someone open up a franchise here? I'm begging.
On my way home from the train station, I stopped in at my local natural foods store and picked up some stuff our favorite "Housewife of NYC "suggests in her new book "Naturally Thin". Yes, I'm on the Bethenny Frankel bandwagon. Here's what I copied picked up. Click below to get Bethenny's book so you can be a copycat too.
Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting
I bought a total of 12 items from this natural foods store and it cost me $55. What a rip off.
Can you believe I bought LuAnn's book too? I just started reading it yesterday. It's okay. The "countess" irrates me sometimes. Who the eff cares if you're a "countess"?? Do you? I don't.
I can't believe it's almost May! Guess who's got a birthday coming up???
This is my latest book find. I just ordered it. Have you read it? Reviews please. Anyone??
